Welcome to Cornwall Coast
From flip-flop clad wanderers to gung-ho hikers and enthusiastic amblers The South West Coast Path offers the ultimate feel good, free activity and offers visitors a unique experience they can’t enjoy at home. Most visitors will enjoy The South West Coast Path when they come to Cornwall whether they realise it or not.

To provide world-class service, it is vital for you and your colleagues to meet and, whenever possible, exceed customer expectations, and to present what Cornwall has to offer in a passionate and inspiring way. It is important to adopt a positive attitude and to use your knowledge and skills to enhance the customer experience, and to build trust and customer loyalty.
Taking part in Welcome to Cornwall Coast will enable you to work with others to review and develop your customer service skills and to develop your knowledge of The South West Coast Path, facilities and services for visitors and local residents.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the training programme are to help you to:
- appreciate what The South West Coast Path has to offer
- emphasis value of The South West Coast Path into the local economy
- identify and locate the range of tourism, leisure and hospitality services in Cornwall
- understand who visits Cornwall, The South West Coast Path and identify what they need and expect
- meet, manage and, whenever possible, exceed customer expectations
- appreciate the key elements of excellent customer service
- work with your colleagues to deliver excellent service on a consistent basis
- communicate and connect with customers – face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing
- present information on Cornwall in an inspiring way
- identify methods of boosting business and develop your sales skills
- deal effectively with difficult situations
- demonstrate a clear message of enthusiasm for Cornwall through the delivery of excellent service to all customers
